C. Ind. city might make golf carts street legal

FRANKFORT, Ind.— Officials in a central Indiana city are considering a proposal to allow driving of golf carts on most of its streets even though the police chief says doing so could be dangerous. The Frankfort City Council voted 5-2 on Monday to give initial approval to the ordinance, which would permit licensed drivers at least 18 years old to have the carts on city streets if they have headlights, turn signals and other safety equipment.
